Beth Hoyt-Flewelling, M.Ed.

Beth is the Coordinator of Recruitment for the School of Education. She holds a M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Plymouth State University, is a NH certified Early Childhood teacher and holds a B.A. degree from Wellesley College. Beth came to Granite State College School of Education in September of 2011 after many years as a teacher of 3-6 year olds and owner of a private preschool and kindergarten.

Returning to school at the age of 36 to earn her teaching certification and master’s degree, Beth’s life path closely resembles that of the students she is working with in the Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program. After finding her own way to a teaching career, she is now helping others to become teachers.  Traveling the state of NH, meeting prospective students, teachers and school administrators, Beth’s office is her car. She is getting to know all of the GSC campus centers and school districts around the state.

Over the years, Beth has been a volunteer mediator, home visitor for families with new babies and facilitator for a teen parent support group for the Good Beginnings Program of Sullivan County. She currently serves as Vice President of the Board of The Good Beginnings Program of Sullivan County and is on the planning team and publicity committee of the Kearsarge Lake Sunapee Relay For Life.

Beth lives in Sutton with her husband and three cats. When she is not in the car, Beth enjoys knitting, gardening, books, the ocean and traveling.
